I'm a Knight of the wind... @ 10:19 am

Current Mood: cheerful cheerful

I just beat Sonic and the Black Knight not too long ago. I had seen a video walkthrough of the game a few months back, and what sold me then still sold me now, and that is the story.

The story of the game is beautiful. I love how it took Arthurian legend but also made it about something more. I'm a person that used to be uncomfortable with my own mortality, but this game makes light of why we live-- because we are going to die some day.

I get that some people take that as a darker, horrifying message, but to me it's uplifting and freeing. After all, if you were told you would live forever, would you really live everyday for what it's worth? I know I wouldn't.

I realized as I played this game how fucking awesome it is (pardon my French, but it's just THAT cool.) To anyone else, this game is only all right. But this game combines everything I love: medieval fantasy, sword slashing, Arthurian legend, action-packed game play, loveable characters and moments, and of course, Sonic the Hedgehog. The soundtrack just completes the game. I can't think of another game where the cutscenes had music I wanted on my iPod other than this one.

The violin covers of "Belive in Myself" and "It Doesn't Matter" are wonderful stripped-down versins of what the songs mean. And "Knight of the Wind" could possibly be one of Crush 40's most bad-ass song, next to "Live and Learn" and "Open Your Heart." Yeah, it's up there on their Greatest Hits Ever list.

I have to say that their song "Live Life" is truly a masterpiece. It sums up the feeling of the whole story, and I love the twist. In a song entitled "Live Life," you expect the song's message to be "Live life because it's great." My personal interpretation (influenced by the story) was this, though "Live Life to the fullest-- because you're going to kick the bucket one day." In other words, live life in the best way you can. To me, this is truly touching.

Suffice to say, for me, this game was amazing and awesome because it took everything I love, LITERALLY, and put it all in one, awesome game. If you can get a copy, I reccomend picking it up. :)

I've Finally Done It @ 11:35 am

I don't know why I haven't done it before, but for some odd reason I just never got around to downloading GIMP. I just dowloaded the software, and I'm currently exploring it. Honestly, I absolutely adore the program so far. I really think I am going to have fun with this program. I mean, transparent backgrounds? hello!

The main reason I decided to download it, I suppose, was so I could give my website the real touch up it deserves. Now I should be able to make things fancier... I hope. The only thing that isn't working with GIMP is my screen resolution. That is, I can't adjust the sizes for the tools and layers palette on my computer, making it a little frustrating to navigate around. The windows are just too long, and I can't quite figure out how to make them smaller as I can't reach the bottoms of those windows to resize the height. :/

Regardless, I think I'm going to be able to make something brilliant with this program, so stay tuned. :)

I'm Back, Baby! @ 09:14 pm

Current Location: Home
Current Mood: happy happy

That's right! Now that I am no longer busy (well, as busy as I was before these past... three years) I'm back to conquer the internet! Since I have the time, I'll be here using Live Journal as my main blog source. It is so much easier to manage than my other blog...

So now I'll keep you updated as my website, http://sonicherosfan.webs.com, is being produced and coded and remodeled. The first thing I will be working on is my art website. What will come after that? Well, you'll find out soon. Hopefully. That is, hopefully I'll figure it out soon myself.

As I always say:
Onwards and outwards and forwards to adventure!
